The best Bopeep skate yet.

Sunday 11th March. The best day in my downhilling life.

I rock up a bit late as usual. Havent got a techslide setup with me due to all my hard wheels being screwed so I spend the whole day on my speedboard. And what a day it was.

EVERYONE was having it. Folks who I havent skated with for ages, folks who i've never skated with in my life, everybody was going mental.

Plenty of cars and tractors (including the odd police car) but our spotting system is so damn good and the ability of most riders to stop themselves QUICKLY meant there were no incidents.

Also I was pleased with my own riding. I think on my fastest runs I was hitting 35ish, three pushes from some tree. Not tucking on those runs but damn... it feels fast on that hill. And now I understand my grippy cults and how to slide them, I now understand the magic of them. They grip like hell. They slide as smooth as anything. It makes no sense and you cant explain it.

So I decided to try something a bit different. Going from just above the kink before carnage corner, pushing and gripping round- no slide. First go I thought i'd misjudged things spectacularly. But it worked. And I got faster and faster around that corner and it felt amazing. I was shutting down at the end of my run and jumping in the air, laughing like an idiot.

I dont care any more where my speedboarding takes me. I dont care if I have no style and if I never get any good at what the "cool kids" are doing. I dont care if I never get sponsored and I dont care about being the "best".

I just want to be skating at sessions like this for as long as i'm around.
